In this role, you’ll play an important part in the laboratory testing process by managing the administrative and specimen-handling procedures necessary to ensure patient samples are accurately processed and submitted for testing. Responsibilities include receiving, triaging, and accessioning patient specimens, distributing patient reports and specimens to clients, and performing quality control checks on accessions and labeling to maintain accuracy and quality. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity paying 25–28 per hour, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Immediate temp-to-hire opportunity for a Logistics Specialist, Laboratory Accessioning in Irvine CA who possesses: 

• Experience accessioning patient samples in a laboratory environment 
• Strong data entry skills
• Experience using FedEx Shipping Manager is highly preferred 

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Assessing the quality and quantity of incoming patient specimens
• Performing accurate data entry and sample labeling
• Troubleshooting specimen issues by identifying, documenting, and correcting discrepancies within Logistics, Accessioning, and Problem Hold
• Documenting specimen quality issues and taking appropriate action to ensure proper handling, accepting or rejecting specimens based on SOPs
• Communicating specimen issues (compromised specimens, insufficient quantity, mislabeled specimens) to the Director of Client Services or designee
• Performing quality control checks for the accuracy of slide labeling
• Receiving, verifying, prioritizing, and facilitating the delivery of patient specimens and information to designated laboratory departments
• Following procedures for tracking specimens in and out of storage
• Safely packaging and accurately preparing shipping documents to send patient results and materials to clients

Salary: $25-28/hour
