Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Christiana, TN

Empower students with visual impairments to reach their fullest potential in an engaging educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity offers between 32 and 40 hours each week, with your schedule starting as soon as possible and extending through May 28, 2027. The caseload will be determined soon, and you'll collaborate closely with dedicated educational professionals in the region.

Qualifications:

• Current Tennessee teaching license with 462 endorsement (SPED Vision Pre-K-12), enabling you to deliver specialized services to students who are visually impaired
• Strong ability to support visually impaired children in accessing and progressing within their educational curriculum
• Proven skills managing a diverse caseload across multiple grade levels and educational abilities
• Excellent communication abilities for working with general education staff, related service providers, and families
• Confident in interpreting and implementing IEPs tailored for students who are visually impaired

Responsibilities:

• Deliver vision-specific instructional services and support for students with visual impairments according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum materials, tools, and technology to ensure all students have equal access to instruction
• Manage diverse schedules and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual student needs across various grades
• Consult and collaborate regularly with general education teachers and support staff to ensure cohesive learning plans
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student progress and work collaboratively with the Supervisor of Special Education
