Job Description
Location: Lafayette, IN (fully onsite, 5 days per week)
Pay Rate: $23/hour
Duration: 12-month contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, either 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
About the Role:
You’ll support Caterpillar’s Engineering team by processing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, resolving purchasing and invoice discrepancies, and helping ensure materials and services are procured accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, review, and maintain purchase orders, ensuring supplier details, pricing, units of measure, and tax codes are accurate.
- Identify and resolve purchase order and quotation discrepancies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to support purchasing and shipping needs.
- Review invoice reports, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on missing invoices.
- Assist with domestic and international shipping documentation and requests.
- Analyze purchasing and inventory data while maintaining accurate records and reports.
Requirements:
- Approximately 2 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience preferred.
- Associate degree or equivalent 2-year degree.
- Experience with purchase order processing, supplier coordination, or invoice reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
