Teacher of Visually Impaired - Smyrna, TN

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a full-time, contract role. This opportunity offers a rewarding challenge to support students with visual impairments, helping them to access educational content and achieve their goals. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through May 28, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Tennessee teaching license with a 462 endorsement (SPED Vision Pre-K-12) for services to the visually impaired.
• Proficient in adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels and abilities.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with general education staff and related service providers.
• Capable of managing schedules and educational programs for students with a broad range of academic skills and needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and adapt curriculum materials based on each student’s IEP.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and related services team members to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Monitor student progress, update documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as required.
• Serve as a key resource for best practices and accommodations for students with visual impairments.

Schedule and Assignment Details:

• Full-time, 32-40 hours per week; specific schedule to be determined.
• Assignment scheduled to continue through May 28, 2027.
