Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreational, social, and educational programs to meet the diverse interests and abilities of our residents

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and address the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive activities calendar, ensuring a mix of activities that cater to different age groups and abilities

• Recruit and supervise volunteers to assist with activities and events

• Coordinate and participate in special events, such as birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and cultural activities

• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program evaluation

• Develop and manage the activities budget, ensuring effective use of resources

Requirements:

• A degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• Experience in activities direction in a long-term care setting preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff

• Ability to create and implement engaging and stimulating programs that cater to diverse interests and abilities

• Familiarity with regulations and standards related to activities in long-term care settings
