About this job
Aramark Nexus is hiring an experienced Senior Project Manager - Construction & Capital Projects to support the development and delivery of large-scale workforce communities across the United States. This position offers the opportunity to take on significant construction leadership responsibilities, working directly with senior leadership to oversee complex, ground-up construction projects.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee construction projects involving multiple buildings, extensive site development, and critical infrastructure, including water, sanitary sewer, electrical distribution, and civil site work. Unlike traditional commercial construction, many Nexus developments require establishing infrastructure in remote or undeveloped locations.
This role serves as a key owner-side construction leader, coordinating architects, engineers, general contractors, construction managers, and other project partners. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and ready for operational turnover.
We are seeking candidates with strong backgrounds in ground-up commercial construction, industrial development, large-scale site development, campus construction, or construction project management. Ideal candidates understand the full construction process, can effectively oversee technical partners, and are comfortable taking ownership of complex projects.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to gain broader responsibility and direct exposure to executive construction leadership while helping build a rapidly growing business.
Compensation: $120,000?$160,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
Travel Requirements: Up to 75%, including extended assignments at project locations throughout the United States.
Candidates must demonstrate relevant experience in the following areas:
Ground-Up Construction: Experience managing construction projects from initial site development through building completion, with responsibility beyond individual construction components or interior fit-outs.
Site Infrastructure & Utilities: Strong understanding of site grading, water, sanitary sewer, electrical distribution, and utility infrastructure development, including projects where existing municipal infrastructure is limited or unavailable.
Project Size, Scale & Complexity: Experience coordinating large-scale developments involving multiple buildings, significant infrastructure, and multiple construction disciplines.
End-to-End Construction Management: Demonstrated experience coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, budgets, schedules, procurement, and construction delivery methods.
Project Leadership & Accountability: Ability to independently oversee construction partners, manage competing priorities, identify risks, and drive project execution without requiring constant direction.
Lead assigned ground-up construction and capital projects from initial planning and design through construction, commissioning, and operational turnover.
Oversee large-scale site development and infrastructure coordination, including grading, building pads, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, electrical utilities, and utility extensions.
Coordinate construction activities across multiple buildings, infrastructure systems, and project phases, ensuring alignment between engineering, site development, and building construction.
Manage and coordinate architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, general contractors, construction managers, consultants, and specialty contractors.
Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, milestones, and overall execution, holding construction partners accountable for project deliverables.
Support construction procurement, including scopes of work, RFPs, contractor evaluations, bidding processes, and long-lead equipment planning.
Apply appropriate construction delivery methods, including design-build, design-bid-build, and construction management at risk, based on project requirements.
Identify construction risks, project dependencies, engineering conflicts, and schedule challenges, working with technical partners to develop and execute solutions.
Monitor construction progress through project meetings, site visits, contractor reporting, and field observations.
Provide clear and accurate project updates to senior construction leadership, operations, and other key stakeholders.
Coordinate construction completion, inspections, commissioning, systems acceptance, project closeout, and operational turnover.
Support and provide direction to assigned Project Managers, Project Engineers, and project controls personnel, as applicable.
Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated experience managing ground-up commercial, industrial, institutional, or large-scale construction projects, with direct responsibility for significant construction scopes.
Experience coordinating site development and civil infrastructure, including grading, water systems, sanitary sewer, electrical utilities, and related infrastructure.
Understanding of the challenges associated with developing new infrastructure or extending utilities to undeveloped properties.
Experience coordinating multiple construction disciplines, including architects, engineers, general contractors, construction managers, and subcontractors.
Strong understanding of construction project management, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, bidding, contractor oversight, and project delivery.
Working knowledge of construction delivery methods such as design-build, design-bid-build, and construction management at risk.
Demonstrated ability to manage project responsibilities independently, identify risks, solve problems, and hold construction partners accountable.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
Experience managing construction projects involving multiple buildings, significant site development, or complex infrastructure strongly preferred.
Experience with owner-side construction management, industrial developments, remote-site construction, or large campus developments preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience will be considered.
PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Experience with construction management platforms, scheduling software, project documentation systems, and financial reporting tools.
Ability to travel up to 75%, including extended assignments at project locations.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position requires regular work in both office and active construction-site environments. Candidates must be able to walk active construction sites, including uneven terrain, and utilize required personal protective equipment. Frequent domestic travel and extended on-site assignments are required.
