General Dentist (W-2) - Pope Dental Clinic

W-2 employee position with AIMS Locum Tenens. Full-time, Monday–Friday 0700–1600. Pay: $90–$100 per hour (W-2) plus benefits.

About the role
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a General Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care to service members and other eligible beneficiaries at the Pope Dental Clinic, Pope Army Airfield (Fort Bragg), North Carolina. The clinic supports Womack Army Medical Center and outlying military treatment facilities.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–4:00 pm
• No nights, weekends, on-call or overage hours
• Federal holidays off (the Department Chief may require holiday work)

Pay and benefits

• $90–$100 per hour, W-2 employee of AIMS
• Health, dental and vision insurance; 401(k); paid time off
• No production quotas

Duties

• Examine patients and interpret radiographs and diagnostic tests; diagnose and plan treatment
• Restorative, preventive, periodontal, oral surgery (uncomplicated extractions), endodontic and prosthodontic treatment within clinical privileges
• Diagnose and manage dental emergencies, infections, trauma and acute pain; prescribe as clinically indicated
• Complex procedures when a specialist is not available; consultation; referral of non-dental problems
• Maintain accurate dental and electronic health records
• Patient education, quality-improvement and staff meetings during duty hours; may precept general dentistry residents

Requirements

• DDS or DMD from a dental school accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
• Board eligible or board certified in General Dentistry
• Current, full, active and unrestricted dental license in any U.S. state, territory or DC; any other licenses held must be in good standing
• DEA registration
• Active NPI
• Current BLS certification
• U.S. citizenship
• Credentialing and clinical privileges at the military treatment facility, plus a security background investigation (AIMS guides you through both)
• DHA occupational health: physical exam, TB screening, required immunizations including annual influenza
• Government competency-based interview before placement

Physical requirements: sit and stand for extended periods; manual dexterity for dental procedures; lift up to 25 lb; normal visual acuity and hand-eye coordination.
