SAP BusinessObjects Report Developer

Role: SAP BusinessObjects Report Developer (Report Writer)
Location: Oakland, CA (3 days onsite/week)
Duration: 4 to 6 months, contract

Summary: The Client is looking for an experienced SAP BusinessObjects report developer to design and build new reports for the Client's budgeting system. The system is a SaaS solution, and its vendor supports reporting through SAP BusinessObjects. This is new report development not a migration or an enhancement of existing reports. The consultant will work with the Digital Apps Team and business users to turn reporting requirements into accurate, easy to use reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy new reports using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3
• Gather and clarify reporting requirements with County stakeholders and the Digital Apps Team
• Build and maintain reports in Web Intelligence, including prompts, filters, calculations, and formatting
• Work with Universes and data sources to ensure reports pull accurate budgeting data
• Validate report output against source data and resolve discrepancies
• Optimize report performance and usability
• Document report specifications, logic, and user instructions
• Support user acceptance testing and make revisions based on feedback

Required Qualifications:

• Proven hands-on experience developing reports in SAP BusinessObjects, with strong Web Intelligence skills
• Working knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3
• Experience with Universe design (Information Design Tool or UDT)
• Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of relational databases
• Experience translating business requirements into technical report designs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical users

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with budgeting, finance, or ERP reporting
• Experience working with SaaS applications and vendor provided data models
• Prior experience in government or public sector environments
• Familiarity with Crystal Reports (helpful, but not required)
