Qualifications & SkillsEducation

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Electrical/Systems Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Related field

Lab / Critical Facilities Expertise

• 6+ years of experience designing lab automation solutions for research environments.
• Experience working in:
  • R&D laboratories
  • Life sciences facilities
  • Pharmaceutical facilities
  • Cleanrooms
• Strong understanding of laboratory automation and critical facility environments.

IoT & Protocols

• Deep practical experience with:
  • IoT edge gateways
  • Time-series data management
  • Industrial protocol converters
  • High-frequency sensor ingestion
• Experience integrating IoT devices and sensors with enterprise platforms.

AI & Data Pipelines

• Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models on time-series telemetry.
• Experience developing predictive analytics for critical laboratory equipment.
• Experience building and managing data pipelines for sensor and equipment telemetry.

Enterprise Integrations

• Experience integrating enterprise systems with smart building platforms.
• Experience working with:
  • CMMS
  • ERP
  • EDMS
  • Smart building platforms
• Understanding of data integration and interoperability between facility and enterprise systems.

Programming & Cloud

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages:
  • Python
  • C
  • C++
  • Node.js
  • Go
• Strong experience with cloud platforms, including:
  • AWS IoT Core
  • Azure IoT Hub
  • Google Cloud

Lab EHS & Facility Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Lab EHS standards.
• Knowledge of specialized laboratory ventilation requirements, including:
  • Air Changes per Hour (ACH)
  • Differential pressure
• Understanding of containment protocols.
• Experience working with critical laboratory environments and facility controls.

Security & Networking

• Strong understanding of Operations/IT security convergence.
• Experience with:
  • Network isolation
  • VLANs
  • Purdue Model
  • Zero Trust
• Understanding of secure IoT and operational technology environments.

Collaboration & Communication

• Proven ability to collaborate with:
  • Scientific researchers
  • Facility engineers
  • Enterprise IT directors
  • Hardware vendors
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate technical requirements between scientific, engineering, IT, and vendor teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing digital tools for research facilities.
• Experience with equipment asset management solutions.
