GA DOR - Applications Developer 1

Location: Not specified. Local candidates only.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, or Mathematics preferred.
Position Type: Contract

Must Have Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with SQL databases.
- Minimum of 2 years of object-oriented development experience using technologies such as .NET, Java, C#, or VB.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of traditional and Agile software development methodologies.
- Understanding of software development standards and coding best practices.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Desired Skills:
- Experience with web services.
- Familiarity with APIs.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Knowledge of SQL stored procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and support the FASTDS-VS® Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) application, including six modules and additional subsystems.
- Gather and analyze business and application requirements.
- Configure application settings and maintain reference tables.
- Set up user accounts and manage access permissions.
- Develop application enhancements for change requests.
- Write and maintain scripts.
- Debug software and resolve application issues.
- Manage source code using source control tools.
- Test application configurations, enhancements, and fixes.
- Prepare implementation specifications and supporting documentation.
- Provide production application support.
