Responsibilities
  • Review customer specifications and translate them into design and procurement requirements.
  • Check fabrication drawings, including general arrangement, vessel, piping, and structural, against design intent and applicable codes.
  • Develop requests for quotation (RFQs), evaluate bids, and select and manage fabrication vendors.
  • Oversee and inspect fabrication at supplier shops for compliance with project specifications, codes, and schedule.
  • Control technical documentation and review the project package (calculations, drawings, data sheets, O&M manuals) for compliance with project requirements.
  • Assemble project documentation and support customer training and system turnover.
  • Own project budget and schedule from award through commissioning.
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 10 years of relevant industrial experience.
Special Skills
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks (3D CAD/detail design) and Microsoft Project (scheduling).
  • Working knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1, and of industrial piping, valves, and instrumentation design (P&IDs).
  • Familiarity with FRP/ASME RTP-1 corrosion-resistant equipment (a plus for wet, corrosive scrubber service).
  • Experience developing RFQs, evaluating fabricator bids, and managing vendors through the fabrication cycle.
  • Experience communicating directly with vendors and clients.
  • Experience managing budgets and schedules and working from engineering specifications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time (vendor shops, customer sites, installation inspections).
