Role Overview
We are looking for an exceptionally strong, hands-on Senior Full Stack Java Developer who can independently design, build, troubleshoot, and modernize complex enterprise applications.
This is a senior engineering role for someone who remains deeply hands-on with code . The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Angular, Oracle/PL-SQL, messaging, containers, and CI/CD , and is equally comfortable solving problems across the UI, application, integration, and database layers.
The candidate should also have strong practical experience with Kiro or comparable AI-assisted development capabilities , using AI as part of the engineering lifecycle while maintaining strong technical judgment, code quality, testing, security, and engineering discipline. Senior Full Stack Engineering

• 12 years of professional software development experience, with deep hands-on experience building enterprise Java applications.
• Expert-level proficiency with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Strong, recent hands-on development experience with Angular and TypeScript, not simply oversight or previous exposure.
• Proven ability to independently work across the entire technology stack, including:
  • Angular/UI development
  • Java/Spring services
  • REST APIs and microservices
  • Messaging and system integrations
  • Oracle/SQL/PL-SQL
  • Containers and deployment
• Demonstrated experience designing high-performance, scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable applications.
• Strong understanding of OO design, design patterns, distributed systems, API design, concurrency, transaction management, resiliency, caching, and performance optimization.
• Ability to evaluate technical alternatives and make sound engineering and architectural decisions.

Kiro / AI-Assisted Software Development

• Strong hands-on experience with Kiro or comparable agentic development platforms, with Kiro experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI-assisted engineering into real software delivery, including:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Spec-driven development
  • Technical design
  • Code generation and refactoring
  • Unit and integration test development
  • Code analysis and debugging
  • Documentation
  • Legacy application understanding and modernization
• Experience establishing project context, coding standards, and development conventions for AI-assisted development.
• Ability to critically evaluate and improve AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and architectural alignment.
• Must understand that AI-generated code requires the same engineering rigor, testing, review, and controls as manually developed code.

Backend Engineering

• Deep expertise in Core Java and enterprise Java development.
• Advanced experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, Hibernate and JPA.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of distributed application architecture and integration patterns.
• Experience with event-driven and asynchronous architectures using Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
• Ability to diagnose complex JVM, application, integration, concurrency, and performance problems.

Frontend Engineering

• Strong, recent production development experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Experience building complex enterprise UIs, reusable components and shared services.
• Experience with API integration, reactive programming, routing, forms, error handling, security, and frontend performance.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues spanning the browser/UI through backend services and the database.

Database & Data Engineering

• Advanced hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, packages, execution-plan analysis, and performance tuning.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including SQL development, data access patterns, query optimization, performance tuning, and integration with enterprise applications.
• Experience developing Java/Spring Boot applications that consume or integrate with Snowflake.
• Experience designing application data-access patterns across traditional relational databases and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Experience with Oracle-to-Snowflake migration or modernization is strongly preferred.
• Ability to evaluate appropriate data-access approaches based on performance, volume, latency, security, and application requirements.

Cloud, Containers & DevOps

• Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
• Experience with AWS strongly preferred.
• Strong experience with CI/CD processes and technologies including:
  • Git / Bitbucket
  • Maven
  • Jenkins
  • SonarQube
  • Jira
• Experience supporting automated builds, testing, deployment, code-quality controls, and release pipelines.
• Understanding of production observability, logging, monitoring, resiliency, and application supportability.

Testing & Engineering Quality

• Strong commitment to automated testing and engineering quality.
• Hands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine/Karma, Selenium, Cucumber, or comparable frameworks.
• Ability to develop comprehensive unit, integration, and automated regression tests.
• Strong experience conducting technical design reviews and detailed code reviews.
• Ability to identify architectural, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability problems before they reach production.

Primary Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end technical ownership of complex application features and components.
• Design and develop production-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Oracle and enterprise integration technologies.
• Translate complex business requirements into effective technical designs and high-quality implementations.
• Design APIs, microservices, integrations, data access patterns, and frontend components.
• Use Kiro/AI-assisted development effectively throughout the software development lifecycle while applying appropriate engineering judgment and controls.
• Develop solutions that meet requirements for performance, scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, and operational support.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to application architecture.
• Perform detailed code reviews and raise the engineering quality of the broader team.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production problems across the UI, API, Java application, messaging, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Perform root-cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions rather than tactical fixes.
• Identify technical debt and proactively recommend opportunities for modernization, simplification, and performance improvement.
• Partner effectively with architects, Business Analysts, QA, infrastructure, DevOps, application support, and other engineering teams.
• Mentor developers and provide hands-on technical guidance when needed.
• Maintain strong engineering documentation and technical standards.
• Incorporate risk, security, control, and operational requirements into day-to-day development.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 12 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive and recent hands-on Java development experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Java / J2EE
  • Spring Boot / Spring ecosystem
  • Angular / TypeScript
  • REST APIs / Microservices
  • Oracle / SQL / PL-SQL / SnowFlake
  • Messaging / integration technologies
  • CI/CD and automated testing
• Experience designing and supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Provide production support for applications as needed

• Bachelor's degree in technical subject area or related field
