Job Description

Matrix Providers is looking for a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to work at the Army Reserve Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Performance Nutrition, which operates as a vital asset within the Human Performance Team (HPT). This position is strictly educational and advisory, focusing on tactical performance nutrition rather than clinical medical nutrition therapy (MNT). RDs are responsible for developing evidence-based nutrition strategies, optimizing physical and cognitive readiness, and supporting soldiers both during drill weekends and throughout the rest of the month.

Location: Pinellas Park, FL; Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ; Gillem Enclave, GA; Fort Snelling, MN; and Fort McCoy, WI. Tampa, FL; Columbia, SC; Nashville, TN; Charlotte, NC; and Fort Jackson, SC.

Compensation: $65,000-$80,000 (depending on location & experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Performance Nutrition Programming: Lead the development, adaptation, and delivery of command-specific performance nutrition curricula and field-fueling strategies.
• ABCP Support: Provide dedicated weight management and sustainable lifestyle coaching for Soldiers enrolled in the Army Body Composition Program (ABCP) to improve body composition metrics safely.
• Resource Development: Create practical, tactical fueling assets—such as fact sheets, meal-planning guides, and Go For Green materials—optimized for Battle Assemblies (BA) and field-training operations.
• The "Other 28 Days": Design actionable performance nutrition sustainment strategies that remote Army Reserve Soldiers can easily execute in the periods between scheduled training cycles.
• Interdisciplinary Integration: Partner with physical therapists, athletic trainers, strength coaches, and cognitive specialists to harmonize nutrition with injury recovery, sleep optimization, and physical performance.
• Unit Mentorship: Train and mentor military unit H2F Integration Teams (HIT) to ensure foundational performance nutrition education cascades down to the lowest echelon leaders.
• Military Alignment: Maintain deep, working alignment with Army regulations and physical readiness doctrine, including FM 7-22 (Holistic Health and Fitness), the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), and AR 600-9.

Qualifications & Position Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Must have completed an ACEND/CADE-approved didactic program and supervised practice/internship program.
• Certification & Licensure: Active credential as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) via the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Must possess a current, valid, and unrestricted state license where applicable.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant post-graduate experience within the last 4 years. Experience must demonstrate a clear focus on performance nutrition for tactical populations (military, law enforcement), collegiate athletes, or elite/high-performing sports teams.
• Security & Clearances: Must be a U.S. citizen. Must successfully complete Defense Health Agency (DHA) credentialing and primary-source verification, alongside obtaining a Tier 1 National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) / Confidential security clearance.
• Schedule & Travel: Flexibility to accommodate non-traditional operational hours aligned with Army Reserve Battle Assemblies (MUTA weekends). Requires willingness to routinely travel to subordinate unit geographic footprints within the assigned region.
