IT Engineer

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a IT Engineer for an Onsite position with a Major Utility Company located in Columbus, OH. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for the daily administration and operational support of the Dynatrace monitoring platform. The ideal candidate will perform health checks, manage user access, configure the product, and support the onboarding of new applications to ensure comprehensive observability and drive application performance monitoring (APM) initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily health checks of Dynatrace SaaS tenant, ActiveGates, extensions, and integrations
• Administer Dynatrace user access, identity groups, management-zone assignments, and API-token ownership
• Manage Dynatrace product configuration including RBAC, tagging, dashboard governance, and creating workflows
• Monitor Dynatrace consumption, identify unexpected telemetry growth, and recommend optimizations
• Deploy and support OneAgent, Smartscape, Synthetics, and Real User Monitoring (RUM)
• Build dashboards and KPIs aligned to business outcomes and maintain monitoring standards
• Support onboarding of new applications into Dynatrace, assisting with instrumentation and monitoring design
• Review and improve alert quality by addressing duplicate, noisy, or unactionable notifications
• Perform anomaly detection and root cause analysis assisting technology teams
• Support integrations between Dynatrace and infrastructure, cloud, network, and ITSM monitoring tools
• Administer and support Dynatrace monitoring for Azure-hosted applications and services
• Use scripting or automation to improve repeatability and support efficiency
• Diagnose Dynatrace product, collection, configuration, and integration issues
• Participate in problem management and continuous-improvement activities

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of Dynatrace and observability experience
• Incident response and troubleshooting experience
• Experience supporting enterprise monitoring platforms
• Understanding of observability and Application Performance Monitoring concepts
• Cloud (Azure) and automation experience
• Experience with network monitoring tools
• Strong communication skills
• ITSM experience (ServiceNow preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Relevant certifications a plus (Dynatrace, Azure, ITIL)

Desired skills:

• Dynatrace Associate Certification
• Experience in enterprise environments
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies
• Familiarity with multi-tool observability ecosystems
• Strong automation/DevOps mindset
• Ability to translate technical insights into business impact

Pay range: up to $62.17 per hour
