Part-Time Power Advisor - Generator Sales

Job Type: Part-Time - Commission - Based

Virginia Power Solutions is looking for a motivated, experienced salesperson to join our team as a Part-Time Power Advisor.

In this role, you’ll meet with homeowners interested in purchasing whole-home standby generators, evaluate their backup power needs, and provide customized solutions.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, has strong communication skills, and can accommodate a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Meet with homeowners for scheduled in-home sales consultations.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend appropriate generator solutions.
• Prepare and present estimates to customers.
• Follow up with customers and work toward closing sales.
• Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity in our CRM.
• Attend weekly sales and safety meetings.
• Participate in home shows and other company sales events.
• Be available for appointments during weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience required; in-home sales experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage appointments.
• Comfortable learning generator products and basic electrical concepts.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Generator, HVAC, electrical, or home improvement sales experience is a plus.

Compensation & Opportunity

• Estimated annual earning potential: $70,000–$100,000+, depending on individual performance, appointment volume, and seasonal demand.
• Commission-based compensation with earning potential tied directly to sales performance.
