Job Title: Grinder/Polisher

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Grinder/Polisher to join our custom fabrication shop, which is family-owned and operated. With the business experiencing continued growth, this position offers an exciting opportunity to work primarily with stainless steel and mild steel, with a focus on stainless steel. The role is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM.

Responsibilities

• Polish stainless steel to achieve a #4 finish.
• Grind and blend welds to ensure a smooth surface.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and air tools for metal finishing.
• Use measuring tools to meet customer finish specifications.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in metal manufacturing or a directly related industry.
• Proficiency in metal finishing, grinding, polishing, buffing, and sanding.
• Experience with stainless steel and mild steel fabrication.
• Ability to operate measuring tools and power tools efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with light gauge sheet metal is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Punctuality and reliability in attendance.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and thrive in continuous improvement.
• Willingness to temporarily move to other departments as needed to meet customer demands.

Work Environment

The position is based in a sheet metal fabrication shop, operating Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM. Expect little to no overtime during the contract period. The facility is hot in the summer and heated in the winter, providing comfort year-round.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakewood, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakewood, NJ.
