You perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and building systems, support production reliability across multiple areas, and use your mechanical, electrical, and welding skills to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on industrial equipment, including Allen Bradley PLC-controlled systems, to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify potential issues before they impact production.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment using electrical and mechanical diagnostic techniques, including PLC troubleshooting when needed.
  • Support machine adjustments, pump maintenance, and equipment rebuilds in EVIS areas, focusing on reliable operation of critical processing machinery.
  • Maintain and repair conveyors, electronically controlled machines, and cutting equipment in further processing areas to ensure smooth product flow.
  • Carry out general building maintenance tasks as required to support safe and efficient facility operations.
  • Perform basic to intermediate welding tasks for equipment repair and fabrication, and demonstrate a willingness to further develop welding skills.
  • Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and document all maintenance activities accurately and promptly.
  • Respond to breakdowns and maintenance requests from production in a timely manner to restore equipment to safe operating condition.
  • Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work, share technical knowledge, and support continuous improvement of equipment performance.
  • Apply safe work practices at all times, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Adapt to assigned area (EVIS or Further Processing) based on experience and training, and learn the specific machinery and systems used in that area.
  • Participate in training opportunities and apprenticeship programs to expand technical skills in electrical, mechanical, PLC, welding, and HVAC-related maintenance.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience OR completion of a trades certificate or formal maintenance program.
  • Hands-on experience working on industrial equipment in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Practical exposure to electrical systems, including basic electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures in machinery.
  • Ability to perform general welding tasks and a desire to further develop welding skills.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and following structured maintenance schedules.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC systems, with PLC troubleshooting experience considered a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems and industrial machinery used in processing environments.
  • Ability to work safely in a cold, wet, fast-paced production environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m.) or 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. 6:00 a.m.), including shift differentials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Trades certificate or completion of a formal industrial maintenance training program.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC systems and PLC control troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to pneumatics and HVAC systems in an industrial setting.
  • Experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience performing maintenance on pumps, conveyors, cutting machines, and other automated processing equipment.
  • Comfort working with industrial tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and skill development through additional training or education.
  • Flexibility to work in either EVIS or further processing areas based on experience and training.

Why Work Here?

You join a supportive, training-focused organization that invests in your growth through an apprenticeship program, paid technical training, and opportunities for additional education and certifications.
