Overview:
A Service Electrician is responsible for providing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services to residential, commercial, and industrial clients. They diagnose electrical problems, ensure systems and equipment are functioning properly, and ensure compliance with safety codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•\tPerform electrical service calls to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
•\tInstall and upgrade electrical panels, wiring, lighting, outlets, and other electrical components as per client requests and safety standards.
•\tDiagnose electrical issues and provide effective solutions to restore service or prevent future malfunctions.
•\tInspect and test electrical systems, circuits, and equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and meet regulatory codes.
•\tRead and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure proper installation and maintenance.
•\tFollow all electrical codes, safety procedures, and company policies while performing work on job sites.
•\tProvide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about the work being done and offering advice on electrical safety and maintenance.
•\tMaintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
•\tComplete necessary documentation such as work orders, service reports, and timesheets.
•\tPerform other related tasks as needed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
•\tHigh school diploma or equivalent.
•\tCompletion of an apprenticeship program or relevant electrical training.
•\tValid electrician license (required by local or state regulations).
•\tProven experience as an electrician (typically 3+ years).
•\tKnowledge of Service Titan Software for estimates and billing.
•\tIn-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety standards.
•\tAbility to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
•\tStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•\tExcellent communication and customer service skills.
•\tAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
•\tValid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•\tWillingness to be on call and work after-hours if needed.
Physical Requirements:
•\tAbility to lift heavy objects, such as electrical equipment or tools.
•\tAbility to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., inside/outside, heights, confined spaces).
•\tComfortable with using ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment for accessing high areas.
Preferred Skills:
•\tExperience with both residential and commercial electrical systems.
