Job Description

Responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining processes for high-precision components. Focuses on CNC programming, tooling selection, process validation, cycle-time reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC machining processes, including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
  • Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machines.
  • Select cutting tools, fixtures, workholding methods, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, machine alarms, tool wear, vibration, and dimensional defects.
  • Support first article inspection (FAI), process validation, SPC, and corrective actions.
  • Reduce cycle time, setup time, scrap, rework, and tooling costs.
  • Provide technical support to CNC operators, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
  • Maintain CNC programs, setup sheets, work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, customer requirements, and machine safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, or precision machining process development.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC milling, turning, metal-cutting processes, and machining fundamentals.
  • Experience with CNC controllers such as FANUC, Siemens, or Haas.
  • Knowledge of CAM software, CNC programming, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and workholding.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and precision tolerances.
  • Familiarity with SPC, root cause analysis, process validation, and corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 5-axis machining, multi-axis turning, or mill-turn equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement experience.
  • Background in aerospace, automotive, medical devices, defense, or other regulated manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949.
