Associate Attorney

Location: Woodbury, NY (Eastern Nassau County)

Our client is a collegial law firm located in Eastern Nassau County, New York, representing labor organizations and Taft-Hartley benefit funds. The firm is seeking two Associate Attorneys to support its traditional labor and employment law practices.

The ideal candidates will have 1-3 years of relevant experience in labor law, employee benefits, or related matters, along with litigation experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

• Handle traditional labor and employment law matters involving labor organizations and Taft-Hartley benefit funds.

• Participate in litigation matters before state and federal courts.

• Handle matters involving the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

• Assist with arbitration proceedings involving contractual and disciplinary matters.

• Conduct legal research and prepare clear, well-supported legal documents and written submissions.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active bar admission in good standing.

• Approximately 1-3 years of experience in labor law, employee benefits, or related legal matters.

• Litigation experience in state and federal courts preferred.

• Experience with PERB, NLRB, and arbitration involving contractual or disciplinary matters preferred.

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a collegial legal environment.
