Barback

Cap Hill Confidential is a neighborhood cocktail bar at 1526 E. Colfax, in the middle of Capitol Hill. We’re reopening under new owners in early November and building our first team. Expect a speakeasy feel, a dance floor, DJ and live music nights, and a crowd that comes from every corner of Cap Hill. Everyone is welcome here, and as an LGBTQ+-owned bar, we want a team that makes people feel that way.

What you’ll do

• Keep bartenders stocked with ice, glassware, garnishes, mixers, beer, and liquor.

• Change kegs and CO2, and run cases up from the basement.

• Bus and wipe down the bar, tables, and dance floor during the shift.

• Help open and close, including prep, restocking, dishes, trash, and floors.

• Learn the bar. Strong barbacks can grow into bartending shifts.

You’ll fit if you

• Are 21 or older and can work nights and weekends, including late closes.

• Move fast without getting in the way on a packed night.

• Take direction well and spot what needs doing before anyone asks.

• Have any level of experience. We’ll train you.

Physical demands

• Standing and walking for full shifts, using stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs (kegs, ice, cases), with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay and schedule

• $19.29–$20.50 per hour.

• Bartenders may choose to share their tips with you. Tip shares aren’t guaranteed.

• Part-time evening and night shifts, Tuesday through Sunday, with the most shifts on busy nights.

• Paid sick leave: earn 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours a year, starting your first day.
