Wise Staffing Group is searching for experienced Steel Welders & Fabricators for exciting opportunities throughout the St. Louis area!

We're looking for hardworking, dependable individuals who know their way around a welding shop and take pride in producing strong, accurate, high-quality welds.

Whether your background is in structural steel, industrial fabrication, or heavy manufacturing, we want to hear from you!

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Perform MIG (GMAW), Flux-Core (FCAW), and/or Stick (SMAW) welding on steel components.
Weld carbon steel, structural steel, and heavy-gauge materials.
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
Measure, cut, fit, align, and assemble steel components according to specifications.
Perform layout, tack welding, and final welding of steel assemblies.
Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions as required.
Operate grinders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication equipment.
Set up and adjust welding equipment for proper penetration and weld quality.
Inspect completed welds for defects, accuracy, and structural integrity.
Maintain proper dimensions, tolerances, and weld specifications.
Follow all welding safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

Previous steel welding or metal fabrication experience required.
Strong MIG, Flux-Core, and/or Stick welding skills.
Experience welding structural steel or heavy-gauge materials preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding symbols.
Experience with steel fitting, layout, and fabrication.
Ability to use tape measures, squares, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
Knowledge of weld preparation, joint fit-up, and welding techniques.
Ability to produce clean, consistent, quality welds.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to pass a hands-on welding test when required.
Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

BONUS SKILLS THAT WILL SET YOU APART!

AWS Welding Certifications.
Structural welding experience (3G / 4G).
Experience welding beams, frames, plates, and heavy steel assemblies.
Blueprint reading and fabrication layout experience.
Experience with overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
Knowledge of welding inspection and quality standards.
Experience with heavy industrial or structural fabrication.
