Schedule

• Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
  
• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  
• 4/3 rotating schedule, so you get more days off every pay period
  

What You’ll Do

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures for incarcerated patients
  
• Interpret physician orders and administer prescribed medications
  
• Assist physicians with sick call, and assess patients during sick call when a physician isn’t present
  
• Check and record vital signs, apply surgical dressings, and provide emergency first aid
  
• Report reactions to treatments and medications, and changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition
  
• Provide patient health education and discharge planning
  
• Advise correctional staff on patient health needs as needed
  
• Maintain accurate medical records, and check and order supplies
  
• Consult with your supervisor on complex cases
  

What You Need

• Graduation from an accredited LVN program
  
• An active Texas LVN license (or compact license valid in Texas)
  
• 1+ year of Med-Surg or LTAC experience
  
• Current AHA BLS certification
  
• IV Therapy certification
