Nelson Scientific Labs LLC is looking for a talented and driven Staff Scientist – Informatics to join their growing team in Potomac, MD. Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain bioinformatics and data analysis pipelines to support laboratory research initiatives
• Analyze and interpret large-scale scientific datasets, including genomic, proteomic, or other omics data
• Collaborate with cross-functional scientific teams to design and execute data-driven experiments
• Build and optimize databases, data management systems, and reporting tools for scientific data
• Communicate findings through reports, visualizations, and presentations to internal stakeholders
• Ensure data integrity, quality control, and compliance with regulatory and laboratory standards
• Stay current with emerging informatics tools, technologies, and best practices in the life sciences field

Requirements:

• Advanced degree ( Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related scientific field
• Proven experience in scientific data analysis, bioinformatics, or laboratory informatics
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis
• Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS), genomics, machine learning or other high-throughput data platforms preferred.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods and data visualization techniques
• Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and scientific databases
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data to both technical and non-technical audiences
