Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher / Food Service Utility Worker to join a high school food service team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity starting at $17.00 per hour, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance, attendance, and business needs.

The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, and willing to help wherever needed while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, trays, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen, dishwashing, and food service areas.
• Sweep, mop, remove trash, and assist with general kitchen cleanup.
• Stock and organize food service supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with basic food preparation, serving, cafeteria cleanup, and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Flex into other food service responsibilities as needed to support the team.
• Maintain professional and appropriate conduct around students, school staff, and coworkers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to successfully pass a background check appropriate for working in a school environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
• Must be available Monday–Friday from 10:00 AM–2:30 PM.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to follow sanitation, safety, and food-handling procedures.
• Previous dishwashing, cafeteria, restaurant, custodial, or food service experience is helpful but not required.
