Job Description
RF/Optoelectronics Bench Test Technician

Express Employment North Hollywood is partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer of fiber optic components used in analog and digital transmission. Our client pioneers full‑duplex, single‑fiber, single‑wavelength transceivers and RFoF links, strengthened by strategic global supplier partnerships to deliver innovations at speed.

A day in this role

It starts at the bench. You power up a unit, route fibers under the microscope, and bring the signal chain to life. With an oscilloscope in one hand and a spectrum analyzer close by, you validate performance, tune for optimal RF behavior, and isolate anomalies down to a single component. You move from production test to an RMA on your cart, document findings, and then jump into the environmental chamber to collect meticulous data from −40°ree;C to 80°ree;C. Later, you collaborate with Engineering—root cause an out‑of‑box failure, help stand up a new product test station, and verify lasers and photodiodes are assembled to spec. It’s hands‑on, fast‑moving, and deeply technical.

What you’ll do
  • Support production by testing units, sub‑assemblies, and customer returns (RMAs).
  • Operate bench and RF test gear: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • Test, tune, and troubleshoot RF‑over‑fiber (RFoF) products—isolating issues to the component level.
  • Create and refine manufacturing test plans, procedures, and related technical documentation.
  • Perform precision rework and soldering; assemble optical components including fiber cables, lasers, and photodiodes.
  • Execute Environmental/ESS testing from −40°ree;C to 80°ree;C and record high‑quality data for analysis.
  • Partner with Engineering on out‑of‑box failures; set up or modify test stations for new product introductions.
What you bring
  • Solid grounding in electrical/electronic fundamentals and RF circuitry.
  • Track record troubleshooting digital and analog systems down to the component.
  • Proficiency with network and spectrum analyzers; understanding of intermodulation and noise measurements.
Bonus skills
  • Experience with fiber‑optic systems and assemblies.
  • Hands‑on optical fiber splicing (straight and lossy).
  • Advanced soldering and precision rework capability.
  • Comfort working under a microscope with small, sensitive components.
  • Familiarity with computers and basic data collection workflows.
  • Self‑motivated, able to multitask, and collaborate effectively.
Compensation & benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience: $21.00–$30.00.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • A dynamic, professional environment with clear growth opportunities.
Work authorization

Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (verification required; no visa sponsorship).

This is a full‑time, on‑site position in a laboratory/manufacturing setting where your work directly advances cutting‑edge photonics and RF solutions.
