Job summary:
The Finance Director reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as FIRC’s senior financial leader, responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and long-term financial strategy. This role is the primary financial partner to the Executive Director, the Director team, and the Finance Committee on the Board, translating financial data into clear guidance for organizational decisions. This is a hybrid position with a flexible mix of in-office and remote days, including in-person presence for key meetings, month-end close, check run backup, and team support.
This position is responsible for ensuring that FIRC manages resources most beneficially and helps maximize funding, while aligning with the Organization’s strategic goals, mission, vision, and values.
As a member of FIRC’s Director team, the Finance Director is a well-rounded organizational leader whose impact reaches well beyond finance. Directors share in the stewardship of FIRC as a whole: they step in with steady leadership during emergencies, offer support and guidance to employees across all departments, and contribute their perspective to decisions that shape the entire organization. This role is ideal for a leader who brings sound judgment, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine commitment to the people and community FIRC serves.
