Workers Compensation Defense Attorney

We are seeking an Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of workers' compensation defense experience to join a growing legal practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with an experienced partner while independently managing cases through all stages of litigation, including depositions, mediations, and hearings.

Qualifications:

• Active Georgia Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of workers' compensation defense experience.
• Strong knowledge of Georgia workers' compensation laws, procedures, and State Board practices.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to case management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and support staff.

Responsibilities:

• Manage workers' compensation defense cases from initial assignment through resolution.
• Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other legal correspondence.
• Conduct legal research, review medical records, and evaluate claims to develop effective defense strategies.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, and hearings before the Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation.
• Negotiate settlements and pursue timely, cost-effective claim resolutions.
• Maintain regular client communication by providing case updates, evaluations, and recommendations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and personalized service.
• Collaborate with partners, fellow attorneys, and legal support staff to ensure efficient case management.
