Job Description

Northeast preferred, particularly NY/NJ and surrounding areas. Frequent site travel, concentrated during outages; work arrangement to be confirmed

We are partnering with an established, infrastructure-investment-backed power generation business to appoint a Fleet Thermal Engineer. This role will help build a robust boiler and HRSG reliability program and establish consistent engineering standards across a predominantly combined-cycle fleet.

What you will do

  • Develop fleet-wide boiler and HRSG engineering standards, inspection plans, reliability practices and corrective-action processes.
  • Serve as a technical resource for boilers and HRSGs, with supporting expertise in high energy piping, pressure systems and steam-cycle equipment.
  • Investigate boiler and HRSG failures, identify root causes and translate findings into practical prevention measures across the fleet.
  • Plan and support scheduled and forced outages, including inspection scope, repair recommendations and review of findings.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, vendors and fleet engineering teams to implement practical solutions.

What you will bring

  • At least seven years of relevant power-generation engineering experience; ten or more years preferred.
  • Strong boiler or HRSG expertise, supported by experience with high energy piping, steam-cycle systems and outage engineering.
  • An engineering bachelor’s degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Electrical, Industrial or related Engineering backgrounds may be considered with relevant experience.
  • Experience developing reliability programs or engineering standards, with the ability to secure adoption across plant teams. Multi-asset or fleet exposure is especially valuable.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to Northeast plants, particularly during outages. Travel was initially estimated at up to 40%; the expected pattern will be discussed. A PE license is preferred, not required.
