Medical Lab Scientist IV

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility in Fairhope, AL. This is a 6+ months with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Fairhope, AL 36532

Pay Rate: $48 - $51/hr. on W2.

Shift: Mon - Thurs 9:00pm-7:30am

Duration: 6+ months

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in the core lab.
• Work as a generalist in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Blood Bank.
• Verify specimen acceptability and process samples according to established procedures.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Perform quality control, preventive maintenance, and reagent testing.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of patient test results.
• Identify and resolve testing issues and technical problems.
• Maintain adequate laboratory supplies and assist with specimen processing.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

• ASCP or AMT certification preferred but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science, meeting CLIA requirements.
• Clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Blood Bank experience is required.
• Generalist experience across core laboratory departments.

Additional Requirements

• Must meet applicable CLIA and state regulatory requirements.
• Credentialing clearance from the laboratory’s Quality Department is required before starting.
• Official academic transcripts and an updated resume must be submitted for credentialing review.
