Duties

• Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, hair styling, and nail trimming with precision and care
• Handle animals safely and compassionately during grooming procedures, utilizing proper restraint techniques
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide pet care advice
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized regularly
• Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training, animal restraint, and basic behavioral assessments when needed
• Support pet coat styling based on breed standards or owner requests to ensure a polished appearance
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring pet comfort throughout the process

Qualifications

• Certified Groomer with valid credentials from an accredited grooming program or organization
• Experience in pet grooming, including dog handling, pet coat styling, and nail trimming
• Background in veterinary or veterinary technician work, veterinary assisting, or animal care is highly desirable
• Strong animal handling skills across various species such as dogs, cats, and equines
• Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and safe lifting practices for heavy or large pets
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners about grooming needs and pet health considerations
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist with large animals or equipment setup
• Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus
