About this job
Job Description
Summit Roofing · Atlanta, GA · Full-time, on-site · $65,000+ base plus commission on change orders
You're the project manager homeowners remember by name. They remember you because you texted before they had to ask, the crew showed up when you said it would, and the job looked right at the final walkthrough. If you've been running jobs at a big roofing company and want your work to actually be noticed, keep reading.
What we do
Summit Roofing fixes roofs across metro Atlanta and up to about 60 miles out. We do roof replacements, roof and skylight repairs, gutters and 24/7 emergency tarping. Many customers call us because something is leaking, so the way we communicate matters as much as the way we work.
What you'll do
You'll own 10 to 20 jobs a week, from the day the sale is signed to the final walkthrough. In practice, that means you'll:
- Keep every job on schedule. You build the week in Jobber, line up crews and materials, and adjust fast when weather or a supplier changes the plan.
- Lead our subcontractor crews. You set expectations before work starts, check the work against spec, and call it out when something isn't right.
- Be the customer's one point of contact. Homeowners hear from you before, during and after the job. We aim for a 5-star experience on every one.
- Keep projects moving. When a job is waiting on materials, you take the truck and go get them.
- Catch the extra work. When a crew finds rotted decking or other hidden damage, you document it, walk the homeowner through it and write up the change order. You earn commission on every change order.
You report directly to our General Manager.
What you bring
Must-haves
- A valid driver's license (you'll drive a company truck)
- Experience coordinating several jobs, crews or projects at once, in any industry
- Clear, calm communication with homeowners, including when the news is bad
- The habit of finishing what you start without anyone having to remind you
- Availability for weekend work when weather or an emergency calls for it
Nice-to-haves
- Project management experience at a roofing company, especially a larger one
- Experience managing subcontractor crews
- Experience with Jobber or another field service CRM
- Conversational Spanish
- A reasonable commute to our Marietta office
Why Summit
We're growing, and we just brought on a new General Manager to build the systems that growth needs. You'll help build those systems rather than being handed a binder. You'll get a company truck and fuel, the tools to do the job, and a team that says what it means. Base pay starts at $65,000, depends on experience, and is negotiable, plus commission on change orders. We're building the full compensation structure for this role now, with room to grow. We invest in good people who invest in us.
Ready to apply?
If you read this and thought "that's how I already work," apply right here with your resume. In a sentence or two, tell us about a job you're proud of.
If you read this and thought "I'd rather not be the one customers call," this probably isn't your role, and that's okay.
We can teach you our systems and our roofs. We can't teach you to care whether the customer is happy.
