Sales Associates (Cashier)

As a Convenience Store Sales Associate / Cashier, you will provide friendly, professional customer service while supporting register operations, food and beverage service, stocking, cleaning, and fuel station activities. Reporting to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, you may work independently or as part of a two-person team, with outdoor and fuel-station duties performed during each scheduled shift. This role offers pathways to Shift Supervisor and Assistant Manager positions, along with cross-training across store operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide helpful, professional service.
• Operate the cash register and process cash, credit card, and other payments accurately.
• Assist customers with fuel purchases, store products, and general inquiries.
• Prepare and serve food and beverage items according to company standards.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays, and monitor inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, restrooms, fuel pumps, and exterior areas.
• Verify age requirements for tobacco, alcohol, and other restricted products.
• Follow safety, security, loss prevention, company policy, and local regulatory requirements.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
• Perform opening, closing, and shift-change procedures.
• Support product promotions and upsell products when appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of retail sales and customer service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling.
• Knowledge of inventory management, loss prevention, and food safety.
• Basic mathematics, customer service, and attention to detail.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 pounds.
• Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused approach.
