Project Manager - Data Center

Sharp Cable | Project-Based Travel Required

Sharp Cable is hiring a Data Center Project Manager to support our Data Center Director and help manage our growing fiber infrastructure operations. This position will coordinate field execution, schedules, staffing, documentation, and customer communication so our crews have what they need to deliver quality work on time.

We’re looking for someone organized, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving construction environment. You’ll work closely with our director, field supervisors, technicians, and subcontractor partners to keep projects moving and address issues before they affect production.

Responsibilities

• Support the Data Center Director in planning and managing projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate daily activities involving fiber placement, furcation, ribbon splicing, testing, and related inside-plant work.
• Build and maintain project schedules, staffing plans, and production goals.
• Track daily progress, labor hours, costs, material needs, and equipment availability.
• Coordinate in-house crews and subcontractors across project phases and shifts.
• Communicate with customers, general contractors, and other trades regarding schedules, access, priorities, and field conditions.
• Identify delays, scope changes, and resource gaps; help develop solutions and follow through on corrective actions.
• Maintain daily reports, production records, change-order documentation, and billing support.
• Coordinate quality checks, testing records, punch lists, and customer closeout requirements.
• Reinforce site safety requirements and company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management, construction management, telecommunications, electrical construction, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read drawings, interpret scopes of work, and manage competing priorities.
• Comfortable using spreadsheets, scheduling tools, and project documentation systems.
• Ability to work effectively with field crews, company leadership, and customer representatives.
• Willingness to travel and support project schedules, including occasional nights or weekends.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred: Experience with data center construction, high-count fiber, ribbon splicing, OTDR/OLTS testing, subcontractor coordination, and project closeout documentation.

Crews are prepared, schedules are current, production is accurately tracked, and customers receive clear updates. You take ownership of day-to-day coordination and follow-through, helping our Data Center Director lead multiple projects and support continued growth.
