Cashier

As a Cashier, you’ll keep checkout moving smoothly while creating a welcoming experience for every customer. You’ll operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle payments accurately, and help shoppers find products and complete their purchases. This role suits someone who enjoys customer service, stays attentive in a busy retail environment, and communicates clearly with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions, and process retail sales transactions using the cash register and POS system.
• Handle cash, cards, and other payments; manage the cash drawer and follow checkout procedures.
• Share product knowledge, demonstrate products, and recommend relevant items through helpful upselling.
• Support stocking and merchandising to keep shelves organized and products easy to find.

Skills

• Essential: Customer service, communication skills, phone etiquette, basic math, cash handling, cashiering, cash register operations, and cash drawer handling.
• Essential: Familiarity with POS systems and retail sales transactions; ability to stay accurate and courteous during busy periods.
• Preferred: Retail sales, sales, retail math, grocery store experience, and retail store product knowledge.
• Minimum of six (6) months of experience working as a cashier or in a related retail/customer service role.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, rotating weekends, and holidays.
