Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
• Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely delivery across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
• Load, secure, and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
• Transport freight efficiently while maintaining high safety standards; conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment.
• Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, manifests, and delivery receipts.
• Load and unload cargo safely using appropriate truck loading and unloading procedures; handle logistics cargo with precision.
• Maintain communication with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and potential issues.
• Comply with all DOT regulations related to driving hours, load securement, hazardous materials handling, and safety protocols.
• Assist in maintaining vehicle cleanliness and routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with clean driving record.
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including freight delivery and route driving.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and hazardous materials regulations.
• Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries.
• Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred; ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
• Understanding of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, load securement, and safety compliance.
• Prior experience in automobile transportation or hazardous goods handling is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and cargo handling.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
