Receiving Duties (Incoming Goods)

• Unload Deliveries: Promptly unload incoming trucks, trailers, and courier drop-offs using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
• Inspect for Damage: Check every package or container immediately for transit damage, leaks, or missing parts.
• Verify Against Paperwork: Compare physical contents against packing lists, vendor invoices, and company purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
• Log and Track: Enter incoming inventory data into the company's computer system or digital log sheets.
• Resolve Discrepancies: Report and coordinate with vendors or procurement when items are damaged, short, or incorrect.
• Stock and Organize: Move received items to designated warehouse shelves, storage bins, or staging areas.

Shipping Duties (Outgoing Goods)

• Process Orders: Pull, pick, and gather products from inventory based on customer orders or work manifests.
• Package and Label: Carefully wrap, box, crate, and label outgoing items so they stay safe during transport.
• Prepare Documentation: Generate shipping labels, packing slips, work orders, and bills of lading.
• Coordinate Carriers: Schedule pickups and communicate with freight handlers, couriers, or shipping services.
• Load Trucks: Safely stack and load outgoing cargo onto delivery vehicles.
• Track Shipments: Monitor outbound transit schedules and provide tracking updates to internal teams or customers.

General & Inventory Duties

• Cycle Counting: Perform regular stock checks and inventory audits to keep records balanced.
• Maintain Equipment: Safely operate material-handling equipment like forklifts and barcode scanners (often requiring certification).
• File Claims: Process freight claims or handle paperwork for returned goods.
• Keep Workspace Clean: Ensure loading docks, stockrooms, and aisles stay clear and compliant with safety rules.
