Master Scheduler - Precision Manufacturing

An established precision manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to lead production scheduling and capacity planning across a complex manufacturing environment. This position requires someone who understands how to translate customer demand and backlog into realistic production schedules while balancing machine capacity, labor, materials, and outside processing.

The ideal candidate has experience in CNC machining, contract manufacturing, or aerospace manufacturing and can improve scheduling processes while driving on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule.
• Manage finite-capacity scheduling across multiple work centers and production departments.
• Evaluate machine availability, labor capacity, routings, setup times, and cycle times.
• Coordinate material availability and outside processing requirements.
• Monitor backlog, production constraints, and schedule adherence.
• Identify bottlenecks and develop recovery plans for delayed orders.
• Partner with operations, purchasing, engineering, and customer service.
• Improve scheduling accuracy, visibility, and production planning processes.
• Use ERP/MRP systems to monitor demand, capacity, and work-order status.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in production scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of finite-capacity scheduling and manufacturing constraints.
• CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, routings, BOMs, and production work orders.
• Ability to manage complex schedules and changing customer priorities.
• Experience with backlog recovery and on-time delivery improvement.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
