Regulatory & Laboratory Specialist

Summary:

·        Reports directly to the Chemist

·        Hours are Monday-Friday from 8a-5pm

Responsibilities:

          To include but not limited to:

• Perform laboratory tests such as melt index, density, % ash and listing results in resin lab results file and lab record book
• Analyze samples from all Amcor plants using a variety of analytical instrumentation and disciplines including, but not limited to DSC, FTIR, Moisture Analysis, Gel Content Testing
• Complete assigned instrument maintenance and calibrations
• Lab equipment implementation and lab analysis (ASTM methods)
• Create and maintain quality procedures and other quality related documents
• Creating all Amcor safety data sheets (US and European markets)
• Maintaining SDS database and updating when necessary for each division
• Maintaining Supplier SDS database and updating when necessary
• Creating regulatory compliance documentation for all Amcor customers (US and International)
• Technical support to sales staff and management
• Support to research and development as needed
• Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience:

·         BS degree preferably in science, math, industrial technology or engineering

·         2-3 years of experience in related field

·         Good working knowledge of computer applications

·         Strong work ethic and attention to details

·         Excellent analytical and communication skills

·         Must be self-motivated, able to work with little direction, and have a willingness to help others succeed

·         Plastics experience a plus
