Job Description
Employment Associate Attorney (3-4 Years)
Robert Half Legal is partnering with a well-established Pacific Northwest law firm seeking an Employment Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level attorney who enjoys advising employers on day-to-day workplace issues, building strong client relationships, and developing a sophisticated employment law practice within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The firm offers meaningful client contact, mentorship from experienced practitioners, and a clearly defined path for long-term career growth. Attorneys are encouraged to take ownership of their work while receiving the support necessary to continue developing their skills and practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on a broad range of employment law matters, including employee relations issues and workplace compliance.
- Counsel clients regarding wage and hour laws, hiring and termination decisions, workplace policies, and best employment practices.
- Draft, review, and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
- Assist employers with disability accommodation and protected leave matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements and other employment-related documents.
- Support workplace investigations and employment-related disputes.
- Collaborate with attorneys across the firm to provide strategic and practical legal guidance to clients.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $146,000-$161,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Significant bonus opportunity, including structured productivity-based bonuses and additional discretionary bonus potential. Bonuses can range up to 15K per quarter.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Life and disability insurance
- Paid parental leave
- Flexible PTO
- 401(k) with employer contributions
- Professional dues and bar membership reimbursement
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This position offers the best of both worlds: sophisticated legal work typically associated with larger firms and the accessibility, mentorship, and collegial culture of a respected midsize practice. Attorneys benefit from:
- Direct client interaction and meaningful responsibility.
- Strong mentorship and professional development.
- A transparent path toward partnership/shareholder consideration.
- A collaborative, team-oriented culture that values excellence, client service, and professional growth.
- Competitive compensation with substantial bonus potential.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active Washington State Bar membership (or ability to obtain admission).
- 3+ years of employment law experience.
- Demonstrated interest in employment counseling and employer-side advice work.
- Strong analytical, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Sound judgment and the ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Prior professional experience in a related field is a plus.
