General Laborer/Driving

This position is responsible for securing vehicles within carriers to be transported.

• Ensure the placement and removal of chockers on each car wheel.
• Precisely position automobiles within the carriers.
• Chock and strap the vehicles in the carrier.
• Remove chocks and straps at the arrival terminal.
• Wear and use required protective equipment while working.
• Take responsibility for personal safety while on the job.

• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

Willingness to work in all weather conditions and various hours to accommodate the arrival and departure of the trains. Must be willing to work odd hours and/or split shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends. Ability to work alone and unsupervised is essential. Shift starts vary between 8 AM - 11 AM, with 6-hour shifts, 5-6 days a week, including weekends. Employees have 1-2 days off during the week. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lorton, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
