Position Overview

As a Medical Assistant at Shah Medical Clinic, you will play an essential role in supporting our physicians and ensuring that patients receive attentive, efficient, and personalized care. You will assist with both clinical and administrative responsibilities, helping maintain a positive patient experience and smooth daily clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations and medical procedures.
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies for patient visits.
• Assist with collecting and processing laboratory specimens, as appropriate to training and clinic protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Support administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling, patient communications, and coordinating follow-up care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in accordance with infection prevention and safety protocols.
• Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Provide compassionate, professional, and culturally sensitive care to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Comfortable working directly with patients and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn electronic medical record systems.
• Dependability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a commitment to quality care.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly valued, especially proficiency in Spanish. However, additional language skills are not required to apply.

Work Schedule

This position is currently part-time, with the following required hours:

• Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

There is potential for this position to expand to five days per week (full-time) in the near future, depending on clinic needs and growth.
