Lead Line Engineer

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Lead Line Engineer job in Kirkwood, NY. This DIRECT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the public utilities industry. In this role, you will be responsible for leading high, medium, and low voltage transmission and distribution line designs, including structural and electrical calculations, routing, and engineering drawings, across a multi-state electric delivery system. In order to be successful in this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management along with hands-on transmission line design, construction, and field inspection experience. Preference will be given to someone with a PE license and expert PLS-CADD modeling skills.

Lead Line Engineer Job responsibilities:

• Lead capital project engineering through scoping, budgeting, conceptual and detailed design, construction, and closeout.
• Create new conceptual line designs and oversee the work of external detailed designers.
• Perform structural and electrical calculations, routing, and engineering drawings for lines up to 345kV.
• Oversee engineering studies to evaluate system performance, reliability, and operational issues.
• Ensure all designs meet company, local, state, and national codes and standards.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and direct contractors on company standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Transmission and distribution line design, construction, and field inspection experience
• Expert skills in PLS-CADD, CAD drafting, and project scoping and estimating
• Experience with overhead and underground line design, foundation design, and material selection
• Knowledge of engineering standards up to 345kV and regulatory requirements
• PE license preferred

This direct hire Lead Line Engineer job is based in Kirkwood, NY. The annual salary for this role ranges from $115,000 - $142,000.
