Food Packaging Machine Operator - VFFS / Bagging Equipment

A food manufacturing and packaging operation is seeking experienced Machine Operators with hands-on experience operating automated packaging equipment, particularly Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines, baggers, and sealing equipment.

The ideal candidate has worked in a food production or packaging environment and understands machine setup, product changeovers, film adjustments, troubleshooting, and maintaining consistent packaging quality and production output.

This is an opportunity for an experienced packaging machine operator who understands the equipment and can keep production lines running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) packaging machines.
• Operate automated bagging, filling, pouching, and sealing equipment.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain proper bag formation, fill weights, package dimensions, and seal integrity.
• Load and change packaging film, rolls, and other production materials.
• Perform equipment changeovers for different products, bag sizes, and packaging specifications.
• Monitor packaging quality, including seal integrity, package appearance, weight accuracy, and consistency.
• Troubleshoot common mechanical and operational issues involving baggers, sealers, conveyors, and packaging machinery.
• Make routine machine adjustments to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Perform quality checks and complete required production documentation.
• Maintain clean and sanitary equipment in accordance with food safety and sanitation requirements.
• Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience operating industrial food packaging equipment.
• Direct experience with Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines strongly preferred.
• Experience operating automated baggers, pouching machines, fillers, and heat-sealing equipment.
• Understanding of packaging film, forming tubes, sealing jaws, and bag-forming processes.
• Experience performing machine changeovers, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to identify packaging defects, improper seals, inconsistent fills, and equipment issues.
• Food manufacturing or food packaging experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
