About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified General Surgery MD in Ketchikan, Alaska, 99901!

Our client in AK is seeking a dedicated General Surgeon for an ongoing 120-day assignment. This role involves a Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM clinic and OR schedule, complemented by 24-hour call coverage from Sunday to Saturday. The Physician will manage a varied caseload including general surgery procedures, endoscopy, and responsibilities such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and hernia repairs, serving patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform general surgery procedures including appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, and laparoscopy.
• Conduct endoscopic procedures as required.
• Manage a clinic mix involving consults, wound care, pre and post-operative care, and emergency department follow-ups.
• Conduct daily rounding and admissions for inpatient cases.
• Participate in 1-2 OR days per assignment, contingent on patient volumes.
