Location: San Angelo, TX
Employment Type: W2 Contract – 12 Months with Possibility for Extensions
Pay Rate: $17.00–$18.00/hour – Based on experience (Paid Weekly)
Work Schedule: 24/7 Manufacturing Facility – Weekend and Holiday Availability Required

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support our client's quality control and laboratory testing operations in San Angelo, TX.

This position focuses on microbiology testing, environmental monitoring, sterility testing, sample analysis, and quality control to ensure raw materials and finished products meet established specifications.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of microbiology principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow laboratory procedures and maintain accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and technical laboratory testing, sample preparation, and analysis.
• Conduct microbiological testing, including microbial counts, environmental monitoring, and sterility testing.
• Test raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to verify quality specifications.
• Perform basic laboratory calculations and document test results accurately.
• Maintain laboratory records using logbooks, LIMS, Empower, and other applicable systems.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory testing methods.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Systems Requirements (QSR), ISO standards, and applicable regulations.
• Identify, document, and support the control of nonconforming products.
• Assist with product qualification testing and special laboratory projects.
• Support LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, cleanliness, and safe working conditions.
• Follow environmental, health, and safety procedures, including applicable ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Collaborate with laboratory management and team members to meet testing and quality objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Basic understanding of microbiology principles, laboratory procedures, and testing methods.
• Ability to follow written instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
• Basic mathematical skills for laboratory calculations and recording results.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to speak, read, understand, and write English.
• Commitment to quality, attendance, safety and performance standards.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in laboratory testing, microbiology, or quality control.
• Familiarity with microbial testing, environmental monitoring, and sterility testing.
• Experience using LIMS, Empower, or laboratory data management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14001, QSR, and regulated laboratory practices.
• Experience supporting LEAN or continuous improvement initiatives.
