Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

OSU requires all fingerprints to be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract for an OSU assignment. This is a client requirement, and timely completion is essential to maintaining the assignment and avoiding delays, pushes or cancellations.

Required Skills/Experience:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in the specialty within the past 3 years.
Telemetry interpretation is required.
Telemetry monitoring is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Oncology experience preferred but not required.

Required Credentials:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited program.

Special Requests:
WMC monthly parking permit: $224.80/month or $748.58 per 100 days for 24/7 access to the Wexner Medical Center Garage.
WB annual parking permit: $196.20/year; 9th Avenue East and West Garages are available on weekends and holidays, and West Campus WB/WC lots have 24/7 access with shuttle service. Carmack Lots 2 and 3 are approximately 1.7 miles from OSU Wexner Medical Center; the Pink Shuttle runs every 3–5 minutes during peak times and reaches the medical center in approximately 8–9 minutes. Weekend garage access is available from Friday at 2:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.; regular hourly garage rates apply outside those hours.
CXS annual parking permit: $393.96/year; Buckeye CX and West Campus lots have 24/7 access, while 9th Avenue East and West Garages are available on weekends and holidays.
WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits; WMC is available monthly.

Unit Details:
Adult and geriatric patient population.
The most common diagnoses include all subtypes of breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as encounters for antineoplastic chemotherapy.
17 James cares for all solid tumor cancers throughout the cancer journey, from new diagnosis through treatment and transition to end-of-life care.
The unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
The unit cares for patients with true medical-surgical issues.

Shift & Scheduling:
Day/night shifts only; night shift hours are 19:00 - 07:30.
Weekends are variable based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements:
Floating is required to other MedSurg Oncology units.
