Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as a traveler at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests:
If a candidate worked at a perm facility in the last 12 months, one reference must be from that perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
The scheduler will try to provide one generous block of time once a month.

Unit Details:
Common diagnoses and patient types include COPD, CHF, total joints, hysterectomies, and general post-ops.
Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:6-1:9 depending on staffing.
No drips are used on the unit.
Telemetry is on the unit; the SCU RN monitors and reads strips.
On night shift, the charge nurse also carries a patient assignment.
Respiratory equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP for patients with established home use.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Holiday shifts rotate with permanent staff.
No call or standby requirement.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver's license required for submission
