Tax Staff - Public

Robert Half is partnering with an established Northern New York public accounting firm seeking a Tax Accountant/Preparer or Senior Tax Accountant to join its team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tax work, wants exposure to a diverse client base, and is looking for a firm where they can continue to build their technical skills and take on additional responsibility over time.

The firm works with a mix of individuals, small businesses, and larger organizations across a variety of industries, providing opportunities to gain broad experience while working closely with clients and experienced tax professionals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns
• Assist with tax planning projects and client research requests
• Communicate with clients to gather information and answer questions
• Support tax review processes and resolve open items
• Work with business owners and individuals on ongoing tax matters
• Stay current on tax regulations and filing requirements
• Assist with special projects during and outside of tax season

Compensation & Benefits

• Approximately $65,000-$95,000+ depending on experience and credentials

• Open to other office locations and select remote candidates

• Strong preference for candidates with public accounting tax experience

Qualifications

• 2+ years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting
• CPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged but not required
• Experience preparing business and individual tax returns
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy season
• Strong communication skills and desire to learn and grow
