Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care for cardiac and telemetry patients on a true cardiac unit (not a stepdown unit), utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a telemetry or cardiac nursing specialty.
• True cardiac unit experience required — stepdown experience alone does not qualify.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience managing a patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 in a cardiac or telemetry setting.
